Allison Sets SixTour Record in 3rd Victory
Ryan Allison isn't letting go of his stranglehold on the rest of the tour. Making the turn at 4-under, Allison found himself one behind Grant Leaver as they made their way to the tenth tee box. While the rest of the field labored to make an impact at Greystone Golf Club, Allison and Leaver had no such struggles. It was a true shootout as the two players found themselves neck and neck coming down the stretch.
Each player reached the 16th tee tied with one another at 7-under par. Allison, however, would make birdie on the hole and go one up on Leaver with two to play. After each player made birdie on the 17th and put their drives down the middle from the 18th tee, the pressure to hit a solid approach shot surely weighed heavily. When each player hit their shots inside 6 feet, it was Leaver that had the opportunity to putt first for a 9-under par round of 63 and put the pressure squarely back onto Allison's shoulders. Allison watched as Leaver sank his putt and responded by doing the same, capping off a SixTourTN record low of 62 and falling just one stroke shy of tying the course record at Greystone Golf Club.
With his third victory of the year, Allison has take full command of the points leaderboard and will now await the final two events at King's Creek and Cookeville Golf Club before the Tour Championship at Five Oaks. The SixTour Cup pot is now up to $650 and it will be up to the rest of the tour players to chase Allison down to claim glory for themselves.
